A Word of Encouragement

2016 has proved to be one of the most difficult years in my life. From the loss of good friends to my mother’s battle with cancer. The year was hard. It brought much pain. I lost friendships due to unknown reasons. The mark of the first semester of this year was tears, pain, and uncertainty. I hate warm weather, and he took me to a place…

Spiritual Purge

I knew that eventually, the internship would come to its end. What I did not expect was the feeling of longing that started to invade my heart. Baton Rouge was not yet another place in which I spend summer. It was the place where God spoke to me, introduced me to what deep inside of me I was longing for. God put me in a loving and caring congregation. The Vineyard…

Listening

Listening is not the same as hearing. There’s a huge difference. We can hear a broad range of sounds, noises, voices, languages, etc. To listen is an entirely different issue. This would be my third week in America. One might think that the process of speaking your second language will turn on automatically. Well, it is not that simple. Our brain holds the ability to identify a foreign language and classify it as known or unknown. Generally speaking, it doesn’t take me too long to switch from Spanish to English. My ears and my eyes recognize the langue immediately. The…
